Using the Movie Viewer window

The Movie Viewer window contains two tabs, one for previewing and the other for layout and editing.

  • The Preview tab lets you view the movie and set its properties in the Movie Inspector. By using the playback controls at the bottom of the Movie Viewer window, you can adjust the volume, play the movie all the way through, or step forward and backward through the movie one frame at a time.
  • The Layout tab also lets you set properties in the Movie Inspector. Simply click in the Movie Viewer window and make sure no other track or sample is selected (otherwise that corresponding inspector would be displayed). The most exciting feature of the Layout tab, however, is that you can work in Layout Editing view, a two-dimensional layout mode in which you can visually work with your movie tracks. See Using the Layout Editing view for details.
